Redback Hot Metal Boot:
Historically, Blast furnace / Smelter footwear was crude, heavy,
rigid
and cumbersome and of limited effectiveness against thermal foot
injuries from Molten Metal.
The need was for extreme product performance for extreme working
conditions, but also making
it comfortable and healthy to wear and minimising restriction
to normal foot function.
In
1994-95 RedBack, in partnership with the steel producing, smelting
and related industries
developed a specific industry boot.
The
Redback Hot Metal Boot is been widely accepted, and is currently
adopted as
compulsory protective footwear equipment at many sites.

Redback
have developed various Emergency Service Footwear products
for specific applications, of note is the 'Structural Firefighters'
Boots and the 'Beat Police' Service boot
(designed for and used by all Police and Ambulance in Queensland.)
A
milestone in Special Purpose Boot development was the new
Australian Army Combat Boot which is now being issued to
all ADF personnel.
The boot features cutting edge Dual Density Rubber Sole
technology with waterproof leather and is seen as one of
the leading combat boots in the world.
